Yes, weekend!

 

 

 

 

It was a quite relaxing weekend.

On Saturday I did my regular things like going to the gym and doing groceries. But we also continued our search for new furniture. We visited a beautiful store Kroonbergs Karthaus and I saw this amazing carpet of the Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola.

In the weekend I like to go to the organic supermarket Marqt. I bought some turnips (meiknolletjes in Dutch) because they look delicious, but I don't know how to prepare them...Have to find some recipes on the internet :-)

On Sunday the weather was really bad, so after a walk I lighted some candles, enjoyed a glass of red wine and started reading a new book. Now I'm ready for another busy week at work.

Yesterday I returned from a weekend on the island Terschelling.
I already knew this island and I just love coming here.

 

Every year I go away with my old college friends. I've known them more than fifteen years! Our get away started on Friday. We parked our car on the other side in Harlingen, took the fast ferry and rented a bike. We went straight to our nice holiday house

'De Moerbei'. The beach, dunes and forest are close by!

On Friday night we went to a well known pub on the island. It's named after the owner, Hessel. He is a music artist and during the busy season of the island, he plays every night at his pub. We had a great diner with more than enough wine!

 

Although it was raining almost the whole weekend we biked around the island and walked on the beach. The beaches are so beautiful!We did some wine tasting as well at Jos Beeres in West Terschelling. Jenny en Jelle - a very nice couple-  did this with so much love and joy! It was a really nice afternoon although we were all soaking wet after our bike tour.

 

It was quite busy on the island because on Sunday there was a marathon the Berenloop. Of course we supported the marathon runners along the road and on the beach. In Midsland we went to De Koffiepot for a lovely lunch. And on Mondaymorning it was time to go back home. Like every year we had a great time and I'm looking forward what we are going to do next year?
