Taking the day off
I am giving myself the gift of some free time in the middle of the week to do whatever I feel – no deadlines – no projects – just a day to enjoy and to do nothing :-)

Bakery
Someday I will open my own bakery... A place where you can eat traditional (French) cakes, drink good coffee and tea. To meet your friend, read a newspaper or magazine or just to relax. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, the interior consists of cheerful bright colors and there are lots of fresh flowers. I know exactly how it will look like, now I should have the guts (and money) to actually go and do it...

Scarf love
I love how scarves make any outfit into something a little more special,
and how
they add that touch of sophistication to your look.

Glossy
Today I received my GLOSSYBOX again. Yeah!
Every month they send a little box with 5 (ore more) product miniatures from different brands. This way I can test new products I didn't know before. The box also contains product information, application notes and tips and tricks about beauty and style. You pay 12,50 euro per month (including delivery). Each time it's exciting what's in the box. Sometimes it's great and sometimes it's a bit disappointing. Nevertheless, every month it's a nice surprise on my doormat when I come home from work!
1. Kryolan - Glossybox lipstick
2. Himalaya Herbals - Purifying neem foaming facewash
3. Schwarzkopf Professional - BC smooth shine leave-in treatment
4. Alessandro International - Pro white nail
5. Weleda - Wilde rozenolie
6. Weleda - Wilde rozen bodylotion

Vilalaralala
Vilalara Thalassa Resort in Portugal (Algarve) has been one of my favourite hotel stays ever. Everything was perfect. The staff, the accommodation, the gardens, the beach, the breakfast, the meals, the facilities...everything! This isn't a cheap place to stay, but it's well worth the money. Will definately be returning here. I hope very soon, because the weather in the Netherlands is so bad at the moment!

Cherry Clafoutis
I've been making clafoutis (classic French dessert) for years now. During the summer season you can use all kind of fruit like cherries, plums or apricots. Since it requires only a small amount of the most basic baking ingredients I can make this dessert very last-minute. So if you're a fan of desserts with little work and a lot of payoff...Bon appetit!

INGREDIENTS
500 gr of fresh sweet cherries (pits removed)
3 eggs
75 gr sugar
75 gr of flour
A pinch of salt
250 ml of milk
2 teaspoons of vanilla sugar
Powdered sugar for dusting
METHOD
Preheat the oven to 190 C. Butter and lightly flour a baking dish. Toss in the cherries. Whisk the milk, eggs, sugars, salt and flour together until smooth.Pour into the baking dish.Bake for 40-45 minutes or until lightly browned and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. When you pull it put of the oven it will wiggle a bit which is normal. Place on a wire rack to cool. The clafoutis will have puffed up quite a bit and will deflate while cooling. When cool dust the clafoutis with powdered sugar.

Happy New...Garden
When we bought our house last year, I finally got a real garden!
I love gardening! The sun on my back, getting my hands dirty and just thinking about nothing

New York New York
A few weeks ago we visited our friends in New York, downtown Manhattan. We stayed at their place. They live in a beautiful appartment with a amazing view. There's so much to see and do in NY. It was awesome to explore all the neighborhoods, shops and restaurants. But we had not enough time for everything...Can we go back this year? :-)
